Ephigenia

In the Fall of 2022, I was lucky to be invited by Marcela Lorca, the Director of Theater of Ten Thousand Things to design and create the set for Iphigenia, a Greek Tragedy. We started working together to develop the design while I was in India on my Fulbright. It was a great opportunity to work outside of my experience and collaborate with performers, a costume designer and Marcela. I worked with all used materials to create two tents and 7 banners. I was even able to re-purpose some of my own work. The play was performed in 3 different outdoor locations, 2 in Minneapolis and one in rural Wisconsin. Then the performance moved indoors to the Luminary Arts Center in Minneapolis. The set had to be easy enough for the actors to set up and take down each night that the performances were outdoors.
